Announcement of public hearings/discussions/consultations on the draft Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Report for the Kambarata HPP-1 project

ANNOUNCEMENT

In accordance with Article 46 of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic dated June 16, 1999 No. 53 On Environmental Protection and paragraph 18 of the Regulation on the procedure for conducting environmental impact assessment in the Kyrgyz Republic (Approved by the Resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic dated February 13, 2015 No. 60 ), and in line with the Aarhus Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-Making and Access to Justice In Environmental Matters (25 June, 1998), the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic notifies about public hearings / discussions / consultations on the draft environmental and social impact assessment documents for the Kambarata HPP-1 project (prepared by contractor - "SMEC").

Public hearings/discussions/consultations will be held with local communities in the Toguz-Toro and Toktogul Districts of Jalalabad Region of the Kyrgyz Republic. A meeting with national-level stakeholders will be held in Bishkek.

Attention! The deadline for submission of proposals and comments is 17:00 on October 14, 2025.

It does not represent the final Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) package and does not constitute a decision of the Government. All comments and suggestions received during the consultation process will be carefully recorded, reviewed, and considered in the preparation of the final ESIA and Cumulative Impact Assessment (CIA).
